One of the troubles of lockdown is that it is easier to spend time in the shallows of social media, channel flicking memes with all superficiality of a paddling pool. Sometimes I read the same quick quote as a double take and find it is as meaningless as it is clever. As Valentine ’s Day ends for another year, love can seem just as shallow in the media world, and even serious stuff can descend to losing count of the number of times we have seen a needle stuck in someone’s arm. The real depths of love seem hard to fathom unless we look again at the source of love, Jesus. So here is my uplifting moment for today: “O the deep, deep love of Jesus” with an epic arrangement of this old hymn.
